Tummy Time

I have already started tummy time with Brielle, she didn't seem to mind it at all, she would squirm a little bit, but no crying, I am just amazed at how strong she is already!
Holding her head up like a champ!
Daniel loves holding Brielle, he is constantly trying to hug and kiss her. We are still working on him being soft with her, but he really is so cute with her, I just love watching him with her.
Brielle's favorite lounge place. She hates to lay flat on her back, so the boppy has been a true lifesaver.

First Bath

Brielle's cord finally fell off, so when my mom was here staying with us she helped me give Brielle her first bath, now I thought she was going to hate it, because she hates to be undressed, but to my surprise she loved it, not one cry the entire time, the only time she did was after we got her out, but once she got warm and got her binky she calmed right down. I'm just hoping future baths are just as easy.....maybe another little water baby. Daniel loved his baths and loves water in general, so hopefully thats the case with Brielle as well.

The Proud Big Brother!

This last week Daniel has warmed up quite a bit to Brielle, when we first brought her home he wanted nothing to do with her, he would just push her away, and everytime she cried he would start crying or make faces, like get her out of here. But these last few days he has been a totally different little boy to her, he now loves to give her hugs and kisses and he's constantly trying to hold her hand, plus he has become the little helper in helping me feed her, he loves to help me hold her bottle. I don't think he still fully understands what is going on, but we talk to him about it everyday, and as each day goes by, he gets better and better with her. Plus I think some of his frustration comes from me being different with him, because of the c-section I haven't been able to lift him up, put him in his high chair, or even play with him the same way, due to me still being a little sore, and trying to heal. Its actually been really hard on me as well, I miss doing all those things for him, and can't wait till I can be myself again and be able to play and hang out with my little guy like we are use to. My recovery has been going well, its been a lot easier this time around compared to my first c-section, but I still find myself at the end of the day sore and tired, but then again it hasn't even been 2 weeks, but each day gets better for me. I just can't wait until I can lift and hold my little guy again!

Mama's Girl

Brielle has got me wrapped around her little finger! She's not even 2 weeks yet and she is quite the mama's girl! I always said I wanted a snuggly baby.....well I got one, but on this occasion nothing seemed to work when I was trying to calm her down, so I finally layed her on her tummy on my lap and was patting her back and she calmed down instantly, but if I tried to stop patting or move her she would start crying again. Now she is'nt a real fussy baby, but she knows what she wants, and if she's hungry or wants to be held, she will let you know, and yes she has quite the lungs on her! It has been quite a change for me, going from Daniel who was such a layed back, mellow baby, to Brielle, who is already showing her true colors, but either way, I love her and well.....I just can't get enough of her!

First week home

8 Days old.....it seems our days consist of eating, sleeping, and changing diapers, but we are loving every minute of having Brielle with us! It has been quite the adjustment, but well worth it, I still don't think Daniel quite understands what is going on, but he is doing really well with her, and he loves to gives her hugs and kisses. Today was also our last day having to take Brielle to get her bilirubin checked, lucky for us we never had to use the lights, we having been taking her daily since last saturday, but she hit a peak on Sunday and since then it has gone down on its own, and today we hit the safe zone where we don't have to get her tested anymore, and thank goodness, the poor little thing has more pricks in her feet than I would like, but we are finally done, and I'm just glad we never had to use the lights!
This is how Jason spends most of his time with Brielle....its perfect they both love to nap.
A visit from Great Grandma!
The proud big brother!
Doesn't she look cute in PINK! I love it!
This is how we sleep at night....she'll sleep about 3 1/2 hours at a time, can't really complain to much. I'm getting more sleep now than when I was pregnant, kinda funny don't ya think.

Going Home

After 3 1/2 days in the hospital we were ready to come home!

Family

Grandma and Brielle
Daniel wasn't quite sure what to think of Brielle at first....we tried to get him to hold her and he just pushed her away, but he finally warmed up her and started giving her kisses on the head.
It was funny when she made this face, because Daniel use to do all the time when he was a newborn.
Daddy's little girl!
Me and my little guy! I missed him like crazy! But I know he was in good hands, thanks mom and dad again for taking such good care of him!
she already has a little personality!

Last picture of me prego! 5:30 a.m. and ready to have our baby!
snuggle time!

The delivery went as smoothly as it could, we got to the hospital at 5:30 a.m. and they got me prepped, with the I.V. and epidural and we were ready to go by 7:30 a.m. I remember laying there in the operating room talking with everyone and joking around, when I asked when they were going to start, and they were like we already have, you should have your baby here in a few minutes. The next thing I know I feel a little bit of pressure here a suction noise then I heard the best noise possible, her crying! And of course it was a relief to hear that it was in fact a girl! So as the doctors were stitching me up we were taking guesses how much she would weigh, I guessed 6 1/2 lbs and Jason thought about the same as well, little did we know we were quite off, she came in at 8 lbs 5 oz! Yea we were all a little shocked, how on earth did this 8 lb baby fit in there! No wonder my back was always hurting! As I was taken to recovery Jason went with Brielle to the nursery, and what a relief it was when Jason came back and said she was healthy and strong!

Welcome Baby Brielle!

Our first family picture
Well, we are finally home from the hospital, and enjoying every minute of it with our sweet little girl! We are all still pretty tired and for me I'm still pretty sore, but I wanted to at least get a picture up of Brielle. Everything went smoothly and she is healthy as can be! I'll try and get more pics up soon.

False Alarm

Today has been a pretty eventful day.......first I thought my water broke! So after calling the doctor at 5:30 in the morning and explaining everything that was happening, he told me to head on to labor/delivery. So we packed up, got everything ready, and was in high hopes we could be having our baby today, but no such luck.....not in labor, and my water didn't break. So I kept asking them, why would I be leaking and have a sudden gush, and they couldn't give me a explanation or why this was happening. But to spare you the details of the tests we did, everything is still in tact and looking good. So needless to say I was a little dissapointed, but we know for sure she will be joining us tomorrow! Our time got bumped up, so we have to be to the hospital at 530 a.m. and I'm scheduled for my c-section at 730, so a really early morning, but for me its worth it, I finally get to have this baby! So after spending what seemed like forever at the hospital, we are finally home, and exhausted, once we were home I was trying to get last minute things done when I found Jason and Daniel napping on the couch, it was just to cute to not take a picture, because these moments don't happen very often, so when they do I have to document it. Plus am I lucky or what....I was on the couch and looked at my feet and realized no swelling! Here I am 39 weeks pregnant in the middle of July and I still have my ankles and feet looking normal, plus I had to show off my toes....this weekend me and my mom got a much needed pedicures, plus we all know how attractive we feel after having a baby, so I thought at least I'll have nice soft feet and cute toes! Then as I was packing up a bag for Daniel to take to my parents I came across all the little girly things I have accumulated and got so excited, girls are so much fun to buy for....the bracelets, the bows, the little booties! I just can't wait to use it all! Well we don't have much longer, but as soon as we can we'll try and get some pictures of new bundle of joy up. But for now, I need to get some rest! So wish us luck!

A trip down memory lane.....

  • So my friend had this on her blog, and thought I would join in fun and do the same. It was fun to think of all the memories we had and all the crazy and fun things we had done toghether. So here it goes.....
  • 1. Add a comment of a memory you have of the two of us together. It doesn't matter if you know me very well or just a little, it can be anything. It can be a recent memory or from way back. Once you leave a comment I will assume you are playing too.
  • 2. Add these instructions to you own post and wait for the memories to start rolling in.

4th Of July

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable 4th of July. We spent the day up at my parents house, took Daniel to the park and enjoyed a yummy bbq! Given my current condition and being so hot, this was the perfect way to spend it. This year was nice too, because for the last 3 years Jason has always had to work on the 4th, but with his new job we actually have holidays off now, so it was quite the treat this year to have him around for the 4th and the entire weekend!

Pool Party

Over the 4th of July weekend our friend Maria had a pool party and it was just what we needed, plus being in the water felt so good, I finally got some relief from all this back pain. And with Daniel being the little water boy he is, he just had a blast. It was just the perfect way to end our weekend, relaxing in the pool and hanging out with friends.

8 Days left!

I may not look it, but I feel huge.....only 1 week 1 day until our little girl arrives!
Here is the most recent belly shot of me, everywhere I go people say i'm to little to be as far along as I am.....but man I don't feel small, I'm just carrying her a lot in my back, so I'm in constant pain from that, plus you add in the 25 extra pounds I'm carrying compared to pre-pregnancy...and well I think that would make anyone uncomfortable.

Enjoying the SUN

So I realized that lately it seems all my post have been about my pregnancy, or some other random thing....so I decided this one is going to be all about my little guy! The other day we took him out to play in the water, considering its been so hot lately, we thought it would be a perfect way to spend the afternoon, and it was. He just loved it out there, I thought because it was hooked up to the hose the water would be to cold, but that didn't seem to bother him at all, as long as he was able to splash and play he was perfectly happy! I have been really terrible at taking pictures lately, so I really only have these two of him playing. But we both had a blast just splashing, but I think his favorite part was splashing me. Its so nice to have a yard now to actually play in! Everywhere else we have lived we haven't had this luxury, so its been really nice to be able to get out of the house and let Daniel just crawl around and explore! But we have been having a great summer so far...full of walks, playing outside and something I love lately that he hasn't done before is he will actually sit with me and watch a movie and be perfectly content, with the way I have been feeling its been nice that he'll do this with me, plus the fact that were sitting there together I don't feel so guilty about him watching some T.V. I consider this our time and its precious to me!

Getting excited!

So this weekend I went up to my moms house to hang out and do some shopping and basically try to get last minute things done before this baby girl arrives. And as we were doing this I realized how excited and anxious I am for her arrival, I really have begun nesting, at least with the part of getting every little detail ready for her, I swear I have folded and refolded her clothes, organized all her blankets, burp cloths and just about everything else into categories, and there is a place for everything, and I check, and double check it throughout the day. I have lists all over the house of what needs to be done, and things I still need to get done, and things I want done before she comes, and things that will need to be done after she comes. So needless to say, I'm getting excited, and your probably wondering whats up with these pictures, well....these are some of my recent purchases and gifts that I have gotten and am so excited to use(especially my new sling and nursing cover!)!But really Girls are so much fun to buy for! Its has gotten quite dangerous lately, but I still have some self control(not much, but I still have some). Plus we finally decided on a name! Yeah!!! I don't want to spoil it and just in case I see her and it doesn't fit, we're keeping it a secret, so you'll just have to wait and find out. But things are becoming more real, and the reality of having another baby has finally began to sink in, but I'm so ready for this next step, I know its not going to be easy, but I know its going to be worth it!

clearing things up

so I just realized my post on "i'm so ready to be done with this" came across negative and maybe even I was talking about being so done with this pregnancy, when actually I was just talking about the Gestational Diabetes part, I have actually enjoyed this pregnancy, I have had a little more discomforts this time, but it really has been fun and for the most part enjoyable. Really the only thing I probably complain about and just tired of dealing with is this Diabetes thing, but I know the sacrifices I make and by following dr's orders I'm doing what is best for our baby, plus when I look at the bigger picture, its not forever, it amazing how the minute you deliver its gone! So.....it may not be fun, but I'm dealing with it and I can see the end now, and that is what keeps me motivated and on track.

Digital Scrapbooking

So I know I have already posted this picture, but Jason just got me photoshop and well....lets say i'm quite the beginner, and I don't understand it all quite yet, but I'm trying to figure out this whole digital scrapbooking thing, and this was my first page I did, and i'm still not quite sure I know what I'm doing, so if any of you know any tips and know any good websites for me, please let me know....i'm having a lot of fun with it, but I'm still a little confused, and still not sure how everything works, and how to do all the cool stuff I see on so many of your websites. This page isn't anything special, but I was proud I figured this much out on my own.
