Motivation!

Okay.....so I have pretty much lost all my baby weight,(those last 5 lbs are just being to darn stubborn to lose!) but as most of you woman know, after having kids your body is just not the same. And it seems that after these two little ones, and two c-sections my body is definitely not the same, I could be the same weight (give or take a little) and yet my clothes don't fit....go figure! So I have set some goals for myself, and to get myself even more motivated I have made a little wager with Jason, that if I make it to my goal weight, I get the grand prize! Also, to keep me going and have to own up to it, I have created a little ticker on the side to keep me on track, now right now I am at a healthy weight, by doctors standards, but I so badly want to fit in my clothes again and have them fit RIGHT! So yes i would like to lose a little bit of weight, but I also want to focus on getting to the gym everyday, eating healthy, and TONING up, and I think if I finally get my focus where is should be by getting to the gym, and eating healthy I'll see the numbers go down and finally fit in those favorite capri's I have for spring. But your probably wondering why on earth am I am posting all of this, I'm hoping by doing this I can finally get on track and stay on track, because it seems I keep making the same goals over and over again and well somehow I never stick to it, so I'm hoping by posting them, and giving myself a little motvation through a nice little reward I can stick to it once and for all. Because for me getting started is the hardest part, but after I start and I see the results it becomes easier and easier and then its just a lifestyle for me. So wish me luck, I have until May 1st to reach my goal!

Rough Day!

On Monday January 26th Daniel had his adenoids out, and tubes put in his ears. He was such a trooper throughout the whole day, when the Doctor came and talked to us after the surgery he told us that no wonder Daniel was always breathing out of his mouth, his adenoids were so swollen that it was blocking about 75 percent of his airway......wow! They were also able to get the tubes in without any problem, and told us there was a lot of thick fluid in there, we are hoping this was the cause of his delay in talking. The way the doctor put it to us was there was so much fluid that it was as if Daniel was listening to us like he was under water, he could hear us, but everything was muffled, so I guess we'll just see in the weeks to come if we notice any changes in how Daniel responds to us. When I was finally able to go back and see Daniel he was not a happy guy, he was thrashing around, crying, and kept rubbing his face with his IV which in turn caused a little nose bleeding because he rubbed it so hard, but after another dose of morphine and me holding him, he finally calmed down. Once we were able to wake him up enough to drink a little and be coherent we were given the green light to go home. The rest of the day was a little bit harder than previous surgeries, I'm not sure if its because he's older and more aware now, but we couldn't keep him awake for anything, and every time he would drink or eat anything he would throw it right up, and he was running a fever of about 101, but after a call to PC, they told us to just let him sleep and by morning he needs to be eating and drinking, but for now he's okay as long as we are having wet diapers. By the next day he was pretty much back to himself, and the crazy thing as well is he has not had any pain medication. He doesn't even act like he's in pain. So now we are on day 3 and he's back to his happy little self again, eating and drinking and back to entertaining his little sister again.

He was completely happy until when he had to put the hospital clothes on him!

After we brought him home we could not for the life of us keep him awake, all he wanted to do was sleep

We had a pretty rough first day, we couldn't keep anything in him, he threw up every time we gave him anything to drink or eat. By day 2 things were back to normal.

One of my worst fears comes True!

Since becoming a mother there are a few things that just freak me out, and scare the crap out of me, things I wish never to happen, and one of things came to reality for me last night, I broke down on the side of the freeway in the heaviest fog we have had in years with both Brielle and Daniel......and to make matters worse I had no headlights, no hazards and my phone was minutes from dying! Well this is how my night went.....this is gonna be long so be ware.....It started back about a month ago when my mom came to me and offered us my Grandma's car, my Grandma is now in a assisted living home and can no longer drive, so instead of the car just sitting in her garage my mom and aunt offered us to take the car and use it while Jason finishes up school, I was so excited, in our 4 years of marriage we have never had 2 cars, so this was going to be SO nice. We decided yesterday was the day that I would pick up the car. So after picking up the car, getting everything situated and the kids in there car seats we were finally ready to head home, at this point it was already 8:30 and I was dreading the drive because of the fog, as I left my parents house I could barely see 20 feet in front of me but by the time I hit the freeway it wasn't so bad, so off I went, it was probably around 7200 south I started noticing the car acting a little funny, but didn't think much of it, but then I noticed the temp gage was starting to go up........and up....and up, and at this point as well the fog was getting worse again...to the point where I couldn't see a thing, at that point I decided I should probably pull over and see whats going on, and that is when my night took a turn for the absolute worse, as I started to pull of the first exit I could tell the car was dying on me, when I pushed on the gas it wouldn't speed up, and my lights started to dim, and I had no idea if I was on or off the freeway either.....so I finally was able to pull off, I didn't make it all the way off the exit, I was just barely off the freeway and just barely off the side of the road, as I sat there I would all of a sudden see headlights coming right at me from behind, I can't tell you how many times I sat there with my face clenched hoping and praying no one would hit me, I tried to start the car again and nothing, it was at that point I knew I wasn't going to make it home, so I first called my parents to see if they knew about any problems with the car or what I should do, so being the amazing parents they are they hoped in there car and headed my way to help me out, then I made the call to Jason, he immediately left work and headed my way as well. As I was sitting there I knew I had to try and get off the exit, because at any moment a car might not see me because of the fog and just ram into the back of us, oh and did I mention as well, at this point I had no hazard lights, and no headlights, I was able to turn my brights on, they were pretty dim though, so after about 15 min I tried starting the car again, and it started but you could tell it was really struggling, I managed to start driving again, and as I did i saw a sign to a gas station. I was hoping I could make it, but that wasn't the case, as i got to the bottom of the exit the car was starting to die on me again, and the light was red, ugh.....all I could think of was I cannot let this car die here, someone for sure would hit me, so instead of waiting for the light I ran it.....and not just one light, but 2! The only thing I kept thinking was I have to get somewhere safe to pull over so no one would hit us....I finally had no choice where to pull over, the car just died in the right lane, so I was half in a lane and half off the road......grrrrr, I was just in tears at this point, so as I sat there waiting for Jason and my parents I just kept looking back at my sweet kids asleep in the car, and thinking please let us be safe. As I sat there waiting a couple of cars stopped to ask if I needed help, and me being paranoid, and someone who has watched one to many crime shows kindly says no, but in the back of my mind kept thinking please just drive away, and please don't talk to me, and please don't get out of the car, and please oh please don't hurt me and my family. But luckily all the people were very nice and after my kind yet very stern response they left us. It was also at this point my phone was minutes from dying, every time I tried to call Jason or my parents to see how close they were my phone would beep at me, and I would get that annoying alert that my battery was about dead......seriously, how could my night get any worse???? So after what seemed be an eternity, both my parents and Jason showed up, the only thing we could do at that point was to try and jump start it, with the fog, and being pitch black outside we couldn't really tell what was wrong or get a good look at the car, but luckily it started after we jumped it, once we started it we decided we would all follow each other to my house to make sure everything was okay. We didn't make it 10 minutes when the car did it again, at that point we knew for sure this car was not going to make it, at this point it was late, the kids were awake and crying and I was a total mess as well, we decided to leave it at the gas station and we would get it towed in the morning and just take it from there, I just physically and mentally could not deal with it any more that night, I was done......so my parents left and headed home then we left and headed home and my Grandma's car stayed parked in the gas stations parking lot......wow, what a night I had. This was by far one of the worst nights I have ever had.....not only was I stranded on the side of the road, but I was stranded with my 6 month old, my 3 year old by myself! I'm just glad that night is over and I am so grateful for my parents and Jason for coming to my rescue......honestly I have never been that scared before in my entire life.

Addicted!

So I'm completely addicted! Never in my life have I rearranged my schedule or changed our routine for a T.V show.....and here I am doing just that! Usually I'll just record shows I want to watch and if I have time or the kids let me, I'll watch it when I can or when they are napping.....but with 24 and The Biggest Loser I just can't do it, I'm just to anxious to see what happens that I have to watch it right when it comes on!

Girls TRIP!

This last weekend I had the chance to go to Vegas with a group of my girlfriends! This was my first time leaving both Jason and the kids......and lets just say Jason got a little taste of what its like to be a "stay at home mom"! Jason knew that my job wasn't easy, but I don't think he was prepared for what he was getting himself into, but I must say, he did a dang good job....we also has some wonderful help from my parents, Jason still needed to work, so they stepped in and took over for a couple days as well. So thank you! So, last Thursday, me and my girlfriends headed to vegas, we had the time of our life staying up till the wee hours laughing and talking, going shopping and eating all that yummy food vegas has to offer! But I do admit after 3 nights and 4 days I missed my hubby and kids terribly, but this was a much needed trip for me, life gets so hectic with taking care of kids, making sure the house is clean and running the house that I sometimes forget to do things for myself, so thank you Jason for letting me take this time to hang out with my girls, go shopping and just relax for a few days!

Our first night we stayed at the Planet Hollywood....this was our view, how perfect!

Well, another month has passed, and cute little Brielle is now 6 Months. And boy has it been a busy and fun month for her, she is now loving her baby food and rice cereal, and today I tried the little gerber bitter biscuits and she LOVED it, she just chowed down on it! She has become more and more vocal, she loves to say ba ba ba, and on occasion I hear ma ma, and she loves to squeal at us and giggle at her silly big brother who she just adores! We still have our good night and our bad night as far as sleeping, but thankfully we have more good ones lately. We took her to her 6 month check up today and this little girl is growing like crazy, as they were taking her measurments they kept double checking and going back to make sure what they had were right, as of today our little peanut weighs 17 lbs 9 oz(79th percentile) and is 28 inches long(98th percentile), I was shocked! Her doctor was very pleased with how she is growing and she is progressing very well.

Brielle absolutely loves Daniel, and for the most part I think Daniel feels that same way about her.

I tried and tried to get a picture of her smiling, and this is what happened, her funny faces, she did everything but smile, she blew bubbles at me, squinted her eyes, and well I give up, here Brielle is almost 6 months and I have maybe a handful of pictures of her smiling at me, she is a very smiley baby, but for some reason when she sees the flash or the camera she goes stiff......oh well, what do you do.

As I was getting ready to try and take a picture of the two of them, Daniel had a better idea, and as you can tell by Brielle's face she wasn't to thrilled with it.

Not much

Well, this week has been pretty much your typical week in January, not much going on, and well, not really much to blog about. Daniel went back to pre-school this week, and Jason started school as well again. We have been spending the week inside where its warm. I have been really terrible at taking pictures of the kids this week, but I blame this nasty cold I have for that. One thing we did find out though is Daniel has to get tubes in his ears and possibly his adenoids out, they won't know for sure until they go to put the tubes in about his adenoids, but the Doctor said he had quite a bit of fluid in his ears, and that could possibly be delaying his talking, so I'm crossing my fingers that this will help. He goes in on the 26th of this month, so we'll keep you all updated. So here are the couple pictures I took this week, I promise I'll do better next week!

I just love this boy....I could be having the worse day ever and the minute I see him with his huge grin and laughing I can't help but forget whatever is bugging me and smile.
what is it about mom and dads bed......she sleeps fairly well in her own, but the minute we put her down in ours she is out, and I mean sound asleep, there is no waking this girl up.

Playtime

Brielle has become very sturdy sitting, she is now able to play with toys and reach for things out of reach without falling. I can't believe how fast she is growing!

I thought this was just to cute....I put Brielle down on her tummy while I got Daniel ready for bed, and after I was done I went to put his dirty clothes in the hamper and clean up a bit, and when I came back out I found this! Daniel on his belly with baby sister and sharing his book with her. Lately they have really been interacting and I'm just loving it, and boy does Brielle just adore Daniel, she just looks at him and smiles and coo's and just laughs at him. And of course by her doing this, Daniel in return become very entertaining for her.

Happy New Year!

New Years was very low key for us this year, but at the same time it was so much fun....my parents were kind enough to take the kids for the night and Jason and I enjoyed a nice night out. I was in no mood to be outside in the freezing cold, so we decided on dinner and a movie.....I know, probably not what you imagine doing on New Years, but considering we have a toddler and a infant, we really don't get out to very many movies, and well....dinner is always adventure with these two, so it was nice to have one on one time with Jason. Plus the added bonus....staying up and being able to sleep in uninterrupted. So thanks mom and dad for taking our little ones so we could enjoy a nice night out! Happy 2009 to everyone!

Every Year I make New Years Resolutions, and every year they get left undone, or I do it for about a month and then well....it somehow just gets forgotten, so instead this year I have decided that I'm not going to make any New Years Resolutions in hope that maybe I can stick to the things I should be doing anyways, and the things I have already started and hope by some miracle I can actually stick to it and continue it all year. So I guess it is a New Years Resolution, I'm just in denial about it because I don't want to once again have a resolution that I don't stick to. I guess its worth a try...Right? So here is to a happy and healthy New Year!

A Shout out to Tracy and Alex!

I have to give a shout out to my sweet sister-in-law Tracy....she had her baby girl yesterday. Isn't she adorable! She delivered via c-section and little Sophie weighed 8 lbs 14 oz and she was 2 weeks early! Holy COW! And I thought little Brielle was big. So, congratulations Tracy and Alex, we love you and you are going to make an amazing mother! We can't wait to meet her!

INJURED

Its happened, we had our first injury with Daniel. On Friday afternoon I was going about my day, and as always Daniel loves to follow me around, and sometimes not knowing it I turn around and he's right there under my feet, but this time we were both caught off guard, Daniel was walking around like usual with all of his toys in his hands (I swear this kid needs 5 hands to carry everything around) but as I turned around I didn't notice he was right there and I don't know how it happened, but he just fell right over, but usually if this ever happens he gets right back up, but this time he just started to cry, and with him not talking I wasn't sure what exactly was wrong, was it his arm, his wrist, his leg, or his foot, so after going through every body part and trying to figure it out, we figured out it was his foot, but to me the fall didn't seem so bad, I just thought it maybe scared him, so after holding him and getting him to calm down I thought he would be okay, well that wasn't the case, and when your 3 year old just sits on the couch and watches an entire movie and doesn't budge you know something is up, so after a couple hours I tried to get him to walk on it, and he refused, he would just cry every time I stood him up, so thats when I decided we better be safe and take him in, by then the dr's office was closed, so we took him to the ER, after waiting forever and having some x-rays, we were relieved to hear it wasn't broken, he just sprained or twisted it. PHEW....what a relief, I was a little worrie because this was the foot he had surgery on earlier in the ear, and that foot is already weak. So we were sent home and told to keep him off it, and here I am thinking how on earth do you keep a 3 year old off there feet, well I guess he listened because the rest of the night he just lounged and cuddled with me, today he still wouldn't walk on it, he was crawling around with the injured foot in the air and his other leg dragging behind, but as the day went on, he seemed to be doing a little better, he would walk every once in awhile, but he was limping quite a bit, and you could tell he was still in quite a bit of pain. I'm just glad it wasn't anything serious, this was bad enough for me, I seriously just hate seeing my kids in pain, especially when I know I can't do anything about it. So for now we are spending the weekened in and trying to get this little guy better and walking!I was trying so hard to get a smile out of him, but he just wouldn't budge

Christmas 2008

Although Christmas time is always chaotic and I feel like the days leading up to it I'm running around like a chicken with its head cut off, its always worth it when the day finally comes and things come together. We had such a great time opening presents with the kids as Brielle tried to eat all the wrapping paper, and Daniel going from toy to toy playing and be overwhelmed with excitement, and then sitting back with Jason as we reflect on this time of year, and having a overwhelming feeling of gratitude for all the blessings we have in our life, and how grateful we are to have such an amazing family and friends. We love you all and hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

Christmas Eve

We had a great Christmas Eve, my parents came down to our house and we had a casual dinner, we watched The Santa Clause with the kids, and lounged around in our jammies. What more could you ask for?
