Daniels sick visit to the Doctor

I have to give him credit, he sat in a doctors office for over an hour plus he is sick and to top it off he's a toddler, but he was still his happy little self! He kept himself entertained by the paper on the table and by playing with almost everything I had in my purse, but hey it kept him happy so I'm okay with it. Well turns out Daniel needed a nebulizer, they use it to treat pneumonia, the doctor said he's not quit there yet, but with the way his symptons were and how long they have lasted he didn't want to take any risks, so he went ahead and got us started on the breathing treatment, and hopefully soon we'll have our little healthy Daniel back. Its been probably since thursday that he has had a horrible cough, and a nose that won't stop running, the poor little guy has gotten hardly any sleep due to being up all night with this cough, but even through all this, he has remained quite happy, which shocked me, but I guess he's not going to let this get the best of him. Although I hate that he's sick, I have enjoyed the more cuddle time with him, he seems to just want to sit on my lap and cuddle up(which I'm loving, he has never been a cuddly baby or toddler, so i'm enjoying this part.) So I guess now we just have to wait it out and hopefully soon this will all pass.January 20, 2008
Bookworm

He is still our little bookworm, without doubt everytime he passes by this bookshelf in our hallway he has to stop and pull some books out, I just love it, I love watching how excited he gets looking at them, and how much he pays attention to detail and how he just analyzes every page, just trying to take it all in.
So the other morning Jason comes and get me and says you gotta see how Daniel is sleeping. So I get out of bed wondering what weird position he is in this time, although it wasn't weird it was just so cute, I guess he's trying to tell us he's ready for a pillow. We have been going back and forth on the subject for awhile, but after a couple nights of him sleeping like this, I think he made the decision for us. Also sorry I have been so bad at posting pictures and blogging lately, I have had a case of forgetfulness and well....just lately I haven't been on top of things like I should(and not just on blogging, on just about everything) But things are finally getting back to normal and I'm starting to feel like myself again. A special Mom
- A Special Mom
Before I was a mom-
*I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
*I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
*I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a mom-
*I had never been puked on. Pooped on.
*Chewed on.
*Peed on.
*I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
*I slept all night.
Before I was a mom-
*I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
*Or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
*I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
*I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a mom-
*I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.
*I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
*I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
*I never knew that I could love someone so much.
*I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a mom-
*I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
*I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
*I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
*I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a mom-
*I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
*I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
*I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Happy New Year
- so in no particular order, here it goes
*Daniel started crawling, and cruising, and pulling up, and getting back down!
*Jason and I celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary
*Found out we are expecting baby #2!
*Jason is now two more semesters closer to graduating! (YEAH)
*We got to go out to Virginia for a week to spend the week with Jason family
*We moved into our new apartment(which I love so much more, more space, a extra bedroom)
*Jasons mom and dad came out from Virginia to spend Thanksgiving with us.
*Daniel now only has to go to PCMC every 6 months!(that beats going every other month, like we had to the previous year!)
*Watching Daniel learn and grow into the little boy he is becoming.
And there are so many more, but we are just so grateful for all we have and the memories we are able to create, we hope you all have a great 2008!

Merry Christmas
We don't have a fire place for our stockings so my parents were nice enough to give a stocking holder that we used when I was growing up.
Here is our Tree in our apartment, its kinda bare, we still don't have a whole lot of decorations, but I'm working on it. (but thanks mom for letting me borrow some, so we had something to put on it!)
We spent Christmas Eve up at my parents house this year, other than being extremely sick we had a good time, being able to spend it with family, and remembering the true meaning of Christmas.
Sadly this is the only picture I got of us(this pregnancy is taking a real toll on me) But hey at least I got one. Daniel really seemed to enjoy Christmas this year, when we were all ready to go out to the tree to see what Santa brought Daniel had just the reaction I was hoping for, he saw his toys from the end of the hall and went bolting for them, and was just grinning from ear to ear and just laughing and playing. He didn't care much about opening his presents, all he wanted to do was play, I would hand him a present to open and he would look at it, push it to the side and crawl right back to his new toys. But I can't complain he was the happiest little guy, and thats really all I wanted. We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and we hope you all have a safe and Happy New Year(and hopefully I'll be feeling better by then!)December 17, 2007
I'm so bad at keeping secrets!

Now its not very often I get a cute picture of him smiling at me!
Everytime Daniel would crawl by this bear he thought he had to stop by it and kiss it! (so cute)

Look what I can do!

Since Daniel has been crawling he has never had to experience stairs, so this last week while we were up at my moms house helping them move into there new place, I decided it was time to teach Daniel, he caught on quite quick, at first he was a little scared, he would go up a few stairs and look down and then look at me with this horrified look, but the more we did it the better it got and by the end of the week he was going up both sets with no problem and actually quite quick and no fear! So we are proud of our little man and now we just need to work more on the walking!

Girls just wanna have fun!
Daniel had more fun helping Rosie open her presents than he did on his own birthday!
I just love being able to spend time with the girls! This last week we all got together for my friend Rosie's 27th birthday, we got some dinner, talked forever, then went back to her place for cake and presents. Daniel had a blast as well, when we were at dinner he found a new game to play, the highchairs there have wheels on the bottom so he figured out if he pushed himself away from the table he would go rolling backwards, and for abot 10 minutes thats all he wanted to do, he would push himself away and then I would bring him back and he would laugh, then we would do it all over again. Sounds pretty simple, but he got a kick out of it. And for all of us we had some good entertainment watching him.

Spoiled with Presents
Daniels Birthday Lunch
Daniels Cake

2 years old!

.jpg)
Its hard to believe its here, but our little guy turned 2 on November 23. As I look back at some of these pictures when he was born its hard to believe that he was ever that small, but just a little recap on Daniel, he was born at 3:18 p.m at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA via c-section, yes after 23 hours of sitting in a hospital bed in labor I was ready for them to do whatever was necessary to get this little guy out. He was 5 lbs 12 oz and 19 inches long. He has grown to be such a great little boy and such a joy to have around, I love watching him grow, and experience the world around him! So Happy Birthday Daniel and we love you so much!
So with Daniel turning 2 I thought I would share a few things about him.
*He loves to play patty-cake and peek-a-boo, and any other hand game.
*He hates sweet things (such as cookies, cake, ice cream)
*He loves his veggies! (I think he is the only 2 year old who prefers veggies over sweets!)
*He has to have his alone time every day, at about 3 or 4 in the afternoon he starts to get a little fussy, so I put him his bed with his tigger and he just plays and sings for about 30 minutes and then he's ready to come back out and play.
*He is the best toddler to go to bed, I try to put him to bed at the same time every night and he never fusses and within about 20 minutes he is asleep and sleeps for about 11 1/2 hrs. (what more could I ask for???)
*He is very observant of things around him, he is very curious and is always trying to learn something new.
*He loves his stuffed animal tigger and has to sleep with him every night.
*He is quite the little book worm, we could probably read the same book about 20 times in one day.
*He is not difficult to take to the doctor, when he gets his shots he doesn't even cry.
*He loves to be the center of attention! (but really what toddler doesn't)
There are probably a million things I could list about Daniel but these are just a few, but we are so grateful for him and the joy he brings to us everyday.
