Well, as most of you have read or heard in the news, Obama plans on sending 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan, lets just pray Jason is'nt one of the first to go! Right now we are waiting on official orders for Jason, and once we know what unit he'll be going to we should know if he'll be depoying anytime soon, or if we are one of the lucky ones that doesn't get sent right now. So, I guess I should start preparing myself! At least I may get a few months with him if the worse case scenerio was to happen......but either way I have no regrets for us joining the Military, it has been the best thing for our family. A lot of people don't understand why we decided to join the military. Or how on earth I even survive without Jason, but I think the Lord has really blessed us and has given me strength I didn't know I had. For a long time we struggled to find exactly what we were going to do with our lives, and when school was getting more and more difficult and jobs were hard to find we turned to the Lord and well.....here we are 7 months later. Its not always easy, but I couldn't be more proud of Jason and all that he accomplished and sacrificed for our family. We want to THANK all you for your support for our Family and especially for Jason, without all of you we would not be able to do this!

I love this post Heather! It is always funny to me the reactions people have when I tell them that my husband is looking at a the military. I think it is so admirable for these guys to step up do and what it takes for their family and their country. I also think it takes a women with a little gusto to make it all work! Congrats to you and your hubby!

I love that you are so up beat about the decision you guys made for Jason to enlist. I know exactly what you are going through. Last week, Mike told me that his unit is no longer deploying, but that he is volunteering to go with another unit! What the heck! Oh well, they join for a reason, to try and make the world a better place and if I have to sit home and be lonely for a short while, so be it. Thanks for your post. It makes me think of the positive things that have come from the military and forget about the bad.
