18 Months (and such a messy boy!)

Its hard to believe he is already 18 months old, we took him to the Doctor this week and and he is now 21 lbs and just over 30 inches long! He is still on the small side for his age, but boy does he eat! Daniel is now cruising all over the place, once he gets a hold of something, he is on the move! Still no interest in crawling, but we are still working on it. We are just so excited with all the progress he has made! Now that he is 18 months we got to take him to the nursery for the first time! Jason and I almost didn't know what to do with ourselves, but Daniel did really well, I actually don't think he even noticed we were gone, he didn't cry or anything!
(Can you believe those teeth, poor little guy, he just hasn't gotten a break from teehing, he got his first one at 15 months and it seems after one breaks through he has another just about too!)

This is a new face Daniel has been making, one day I was whistling at him and this was the face he made, it was as if he was trying to mimic me, but he gets his whole face into it,(so cute!!)

Grandma and Grandpa's House

Some last minute time with Grandma before we head back to Utah!
Were going to miss you Grandma and Grandpa!

We went to Fun Land to play some mini golf and Daniel played in the arcade area. He loved the bat mobile but when we tried to put him on some of the others he got scared.

Thanks Grandpa for the swing! Daniel loved the swing, now if only we could have one in Utah.

Daniel had so much fun at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Grandpa set up a swing for him, which he just loved, and he also had fun swinging in the hammock. Plus they had a great toy for Daniel to play with standing, so even on vacation we were working on him getting stronger!

Busch Gardens

Daniel and Grandma burned out from a long day at Busch Gardens

Grandma Carroll, Jason, Heather and Daniel in front of Governor's Green in Williamsburg

Daniel got to ride the Carousel! He had so much fun! Here we all are at Busch Gardens.

Jason and I had some time to go off and ride some rides while Grandma and Grandpa watched Daniel.
Daniel with Grandma and Grandpa Carroll

We all got to go down to Williamsburg to go to Busch Gardens, it ended up raining on us but we all still had a lot of fun, we were hoping Daniel would be able to go on a few of the kids rides but with him not walking yet he was'nt able too, but hey he just enjoyed having everyones attention!

The White House

This last week we had the chance to go back to Virginia to visit Jasons family. Out of the year and a half I lived there I really never got to see the city, so we decided to take a day and go up and do the tourist thing, we walked the National Mall, saw the White House, and was able to walk through some museums. We also got to see the Pentagon, Jason's dad works there so we were able to get a tour(sorry no pictures, security is really tight), we also got to see the 9/11 memorial, they have it on the side where the Pentagon was actually hit.

17 months olds! (he's growing up!!!)

Well we can't believe it, Daniel is now 17 months old! When we were up at the University of Utah Hospital the other week he weighed in at 21.2 lbs and 30 inches long! And he just keeps growing! He has now become a little dare devil when it comes to cruising along the coffee table, he really likes to test himself to see what he can do and well...what he can't do. Just the other day for the first time he attempted to go around the corners of the table and he did it, it takes him a little bit, but he does it! He still refuses to crawl, but we just keep working on it! We are just so happy with all the progress he has made and we can't wait to see what is next for him!

So this is where Daniel starts

And this is where he ended up.

Since my last post he has become quite the little pro cruiser, he won't go around the corners, and he will only go to the left, we try to get him to go the other way and he just refuses. So were working on that right now. But as long as there is something to motivate him at the other end, he goes for it, right now his favorite is the remote control.

April 5, 2007

Well I thought I would tell everyone, Daniel started cruising! He was standing up holding the coffee table and next thing I know he was at the other end, I wasn't able to get any pictures but as soon as I do I'll post them. It still takes him awhile to get to the other end, but hey its a start. We are just so proud of him!

Daniel's Dafo's

Daniel got his new Dafo's this week, he's doing really well with them. Right now he is only wearing them a couple hours a day to get use to them, but each day we increase the amount of time he wears them and hopefully we will see some improvements soon.

Learning about Animals!

When Daniel first got his animal train he was scared of it, then all of sudden its all he wants to play with, he loves to push the buttom to make it sing and loves to stare at all the animals.

16 Months old!

How time flies, Daniel is already 16 months old, our once toothless Daniel is finally getting teeth, he has one on the top, its not completely out but almost, and now he has one coming in on the bottom, and it looks like another might be coming soon too. He's no longer looking like a baby, he's now our little toddler! But he's is constantly showing us how strong he is and is starting to try to take steps while holding on to the couch or coffee table! Won't be long until we have a little cruiser!

Daniel's new Therapeutic Walker

This is Daniel's new walker, a little more advanced than your traditional one, the thing we like about it is that there is no seat so Daniel has to do the work, he's not quite sure about it right now, but he's slowly getting use to it. We do about five minutes in it at a time right now, about every hour to every other hour to get him use to it. So were excited to see how he progresses with it.

Out of all the toys Daniel has, he chose to play with the magazine,well...what use to be a magazine.

My Favorite boys!

Jason had to get this shirt for Daniel for St. Patricks Day, to tell you the truth i'm not sure if we have any Irish in us, but hey it was a cute shirt. Also some updates on Daniel, we recently got him fitted for Dafo's (braces for his feet) we should be getting them any day now, but they are going to help him in standing, right now his feet roll in when he is standing so the braces will help him so he has complete contact on floor. But things keep progressing with him and he has finally got his first tooth! Crazy, 15 months and only one tooth! But he's always smilling at us like he knows what he has and wants to show it off.

Nothing but GOOD NEWS!

Yesterday (the 2nd) was another long day up at Primary Children's for us. But luckily it was a sucess and we had nothing but good news. Daniel had another ultrasound of his kidney's and the results came back great, he has healthy kidney's and nothing to worry about. So we were happy about that, then we headed off to clinic, we saw about 3 doctors and 2 therapist, they were so pleased with his progress and were shocked to see how well he was doing! There was only one thing they want to see change and that is they want him see his therapist more, he is at a very crucial stage and they want to make sure things keep progressing. So we were very pleased about how the day went, also we don't have to go back for 6 months, so that is very good news for us!!!

Growing up!

Well Daniel is now 15 months old! How time flies! We took him to his check up and he is 29.5 inches long and weighs 19 lbs 8 oz, he lost a little bit of weight after his surgery but he's gaining it back, he still loves to stand and and his getting to be a little dare devil with it too, he thinks it funny to let go of the coffee table to see what will happen. But were enjoying every moment him.

Happy Birthday Jason

On the 24th Jason turned 26 years old! He wasn't to happy about having to take a test on his birthday, but once that was over he was able to just relax and enjoy the rest of the day.
